Stretched To The Point Of No Turning Back

So I figured out why the Windows Longhorn build 5048 was giving me install errors!
It does not have the ability to create a partition on a blank hard disk!  Which simply means spinning up a different install ISO long enough to create a partition.  Exit Windows setup, switch out the ISO and restart.
Will it be that easy?
MAYBE!
Right now I am ripping my Windows .Net Server 2003 RC2 CD so I can use that.  I’ll probably set it up then clone off the virtual machine so I can install Longhorn.

Classic Americana food, hamburgers, hotdogs, apple pie, etc, are old.  These things are no longer considered “American Food.”

According to rumour these things have been supplanted by chinese food and tacos.

It is a flower pot that waters your plants so you don't have to.  You just have to remember to water the pot!  It seems that there is a smart phone app to go with it...BECAUSE WHO DOESN'T NEED AN INTERNET CONNECTED FLOWER POT!

Started playing with the Windows Vista Longhorn Post Reset betas today.  Ran into some issues in the install, but here is what I have so far:

Bios date set to 2/5/2005, IDE controller for 25gb hard disk and CD-ROM.

As you can see it did not care for my storage configuration in VirtualBox.  Going to have to figure that one out.

I Hear The Birds Sing In The Afternoon

Today I made quite possibly the most dubious video game purchase of my life....

I snagged a PXP3 Slim Station 16 bit handheld from Wish.com.

The thing has Mario and Link and Donkey Kong on the promo picture but the reviews imply it is mostly a bunch of Sega games...

This is going to be interesting when it arrives in something like a month.

I snagged a copy of Warped: An Engaging Guide to the Never-Aired 8th Season (Star Trek: The Next Generation) from my local library.

I really enjoyed reading the @tng_s8 Twitter account, so I figured the book was worth a read. The first few episodes were enjoyable.  Eventually I  will finish it.

 

Turn Up The Spotlight One And All

We decided to take our child to the Indianapolis Zoo today. 


We decided to purchase a membership which basically means we can come and go as we please for the next year. We plan to take full advantage of it.

There were not very many animals to be seen today, sadly.  But this is what you get in the middle of January.

Begin Again

Today is the first day of the year 2018.

I make no resolution.  I will, however, make a goal...My goal is to post something here every day this year.

Be it a random photo from my day, whatever random rambling that went through my mind that day or something from a writing prompt, my goal is to post something here.

For this particular blog, 2017 was my best year (45 posts with plenty more holes to fill in!), but I'm hoping to do better in 2018.
