Every week tells a story. Sometimes it's "I rediscovered an old favorite." Sometimes it's "Shuffle is having a complete existential crisis."
This week was something different.
It started with an unexpected discovery on Amazon Music: the Led Zeppelin x Led Zeppelin compilation. Since it isn't available to purchase, the only logical solution was to recreate it myself from albums I already own. Thirty songs later, Led Zeppelin had already built an enormous lead before the shuffle algorithm was even invited to the party.
Everything after that was simply fighting for second place.

The numbers look overwhelming until you know the backstory.
After stumbling across the Led Zeppelin x Led Zeppelin compilation on Amazon Music, I discovered that while it could be streamed, it couldn't actually be purchased. Rather than accepting defeat, I recreated the compilation myself from albums already sitting in mu iTunes library.
That front-to-back listen accounted for roughly 30 plays, giving Zeppelin a huge bump late in the week.
Sometimes collecting music still beats renting it.
🥈 Pink Floyd — 73 Plays
Pink Floyd continued doing what Pink Floyd always does: quietly providing twenty-minute songs that somehow disappear in what feels like five minutes.
🥉 Frank Klepacki — 65 Plays
Once again, the Command & Conquer soundtrack proved itself perfectly at home between classic rock giants.
At this point, Frank Klepacki isn't a guest appearance anymore—he's become one of the regulars.
🎤 Paul Rodgers quietly had himself a week
One thing the raw artist list doesn't immediately reveal is that Paul Rodgers was everywhere.
Between Bad Company (17 plays) and Free (15 plays), Rodgers' voice showed up 32 times, enough to have landed comfortably in the Top Five if those bands were considered together.
Apparently this week featured an unofficial Paul Rodgers appreciation tour.
