I took the D70 and Tamron 70-210mm automatic lens outside yesterday. The sun was nice, flowers are starting to do their thing, and there are some insects flying around to be photographed.
So I did. Here are some of the highlights:
I had a few times where the auto focus didn't even struggle. It just straight up said "Ain't nobody got time for this!" and crapped the bed. I found myself needing to toggle between MF and AF more than a few times while I was doing this.
I will say though, even being capped at 6.1 megapixels, with a particularly old and slow lens, the quality and detail are fantastic. Yes, I had to manual focus on some of those purple flowers toward the bottom, along with the bugs, but there is nothing wrong with that. I'm honestly happy with everything I got off of this thing.
Later this week: The D40X and the Spiratone, for real this time.
