So iPods. I got my first one in February of 2006. It was a white iPod Video. I wanted black, but settled for white because Best Buy didn't have any 30GB black ones the day I was in there with money.
This was always the first choice.
The white one though...That thing was so good to me. Almost seven years that thing went everywhere with me.
Then it was stolen.
I had many iPods since then. A black 6th Gen Classic was my go-to for years, but it just never recaptured the feel of the original white one.
I ended up snagging another white one for nostalgia sake a few years back and have been using the ever living hell out of that, plus something like 10 others. I managed to get my hands on a black Video a couple of years ago...But it broke when I dropped it onto a concrete floor. I snagged a couple a "for parts" iPod. Got some great music off of it, but the gamble of "working pod with parts I had" didn't pay off. Could I have out the black faceplate onto the white one? Sure. But it already annoys me that iTunes shows my green 5th gen Nano as pink...I don't want another dissenting voice!
So here we are. Thank you Sydney S. Holt (Do not drop this!), whoever you are, for taking good care of this. The first recorded play on it was 12/25/2005, last dated play was 1/19/2008. The screen is rough, but the everything is probably original. I'm curious about the battery life remaining. So far, I've gotten 7 hours out of it.
I'm going to rip it apart in a couple of days and upgrade the storage to a 128GB SD card, replace the screen (thanks brokePod!) and a new battery.
I'll take pictures.
