San Tropez

Original Title: More Records!

Cat 3
In order from most recent to least recent I have purchased On The Border, One Of These Nights, and The Long Run by the Eagles. Also Now And Zen by Robert Plant. Wish You Were Here and Meddle by Pink Floyd arrived in the mail. That was today (Monday). I purchased Coda by Led Zeppelin (Sunday).
Also Club Ninja, & On Your Feet Or On Your Knees by Blue Oyster Cult. A Boston record. The name currently escapes me. The Greatest Hits, Greatest Hits Volume 2, and another copy of Hotel California (Cover is in almost perfect shape for this one!) by the Eagles.
That is my list of new records from the last 3 days. Almost bought The Final Cut by Pink Floyd at Karma yesterday, but I opted for a Frappuchino and some Pumpkin Loaf from Starbucks after I got done excersising this morning.

Original Title: Gale Likes Turntables...

Chicken
Gale really really wishes he had a turntable downstairs.

Bring A Nickle Tap Your Feet

Original Title: More Useless Prattling

Ford 1
yeah. i keep promising more story, but never actually get to them. also there is the whole "a good friend o'mine keeps telling me about all of these good books" thing. kinda hard to write when one is constantly absorbed in a book.anyway.
creative process:
gale usually has an idea, and then works out the details and stuff while he is cleaning the lobby at work. dragging tables around, sweeping the floor, etc. that is when the ideas usually hit me.
oh well, i need to get ready for an appointment with the aforementioned good friend.

Enough About Me, Let's Talk About Life For A While

Original Title: Bookstores Part 2

Ford 2
Guess what.I went back to Half Price Books. I bought "Nightmares & Dreamscapes" by Stephen King. That was it.
Bookwise...
Also picked up Led Zeppelin II and Houses Of The Holy by Led Zeppelin, and Tales Of Mystery & Imagination Edgar Allan Poe by Alan Parsons. That was it recordwise.
Also Wolverine issue #50. that was it comicbookwise.
That was the end result of my trip to the bookstore.
Total price -> 29.58
eBay should also be off limits to Gale and here's why:
Delicate Sound Of Thunder by Pink Floyd he won on Saturday. And also an auction consisting of six Led Zeppelin Records. Two copies of I, The Song Remains The Same, Presence, III, and In Through The Out Door.
If anyone out there in reading land has any old Rock & Roll LPs they don't use anymore, Gale would maybe be all about buying them if they are in pretty good shape.
Oh well. Enough about me, let's talk about life for awhile.
gale needs to do laundry, then go to sleep, because he needs to do something early tomorrow.

When I Was A Child I Had A Fever

Original Title: Kitty Cats, Templates and New Records!

Led Zeppelin Avacado
I work at Arby's. For about a week we had this cute little calico kitty wondering around. One of the managers and I fed it. We also played with it more than occasionaly. I went to work the other night, looking forward to playing with the kitty, and it seems to be gone. Ah well. Probably for the better. I am allergic to cats anyway. Although I love them so much!! I am sure it is quite noticable, but I have been screwing around with templates for the last few days. Thanks to Beth of wub design for the basic template. I merely modified it.
I just won a new record off eBay!
Pink Floyd
Delicate Sound Of Thunder

Oh well, enough from me for one night. I promise to get back to The Spork this week. Also, more of the other story coming soon! haven't forgotten!

Don't Want To Be Standing In Your Shoes

Original Title: The Guide

Raptors
When you're cruising down the road in the fast lane and you lazily sail past a few hard-driving cars and are feeling pretty pleased with yourself and then accidentally change from fourth to first instead of third thus making your engine leap out of your hood in a rather ugly mess, it tends to throw you off your stride in much the same way this remark threw Ford Prefect off his. - The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy - Chapter 13

Warm Smell Of Colitas Rising Up Through The Air

Original Title: August 16, 2002 (Conclusion)

Ford 3
Here is more of the story:
(August 16, 2002 Conclusion)
It went good for the first three years, but something about 1970 changed us. More me than us though. Suddenly everyone and their brother wanted to be just like Johnathon Betlow Goodman - Johnny B. Goode as I was known at the time. My image started to grow. At first it was fun to be larger than life. With each performance, however, it seemed my image grew another foot.
In late 1975, after hundereds of shows, 7 albums, and millions upon millions of screaming fans looking at me as though I am some sort of god, Johnny B. Goode said "No more!"
After discussing the issue with my fellow bandmates, we decided it would be best to go our own seperate ways. At least until everything calmed down. I thought it would be fun to travel a bit, but I wanted to go somewhere that noone had ever heard of me.
After a lot of reasearch, my girlfriend Ruth decided we should go to Italy. It seemed the logical thing to do, seeing as how I had never actually been there. That alone, was a sufficient reason for me.
After a relaxing six months in Rome, we flew back to the States. I came back a week before she did so I could find a place to live and get our stuff out of storage.
On the way back to California, the plane had some engine trouble, and was forced to land in Las Vegas. I did not want to sit around in some airport, so I bought a car and decided to drive back to Sacremento. A journey which I am, twenty-six years later, yet to complete.
(Next - On A Dark Desert Highway)
--This is but the introduction to a longer narrative I have planned out. It won't be extremely long, but it won't be the shortest thing you have ever read either. It was inspired (I have not yet made this painfully obvious I know) by the song "Hotel California" by The Eagles. I am putting it up as I make it up. One of these days I will outline my creative process, but not today.

On A Dark Desert Highway

Original Title: Gambling...August 16, 2002/Red...Looks like I will live to see another day

Spike
Gambling...August 16, 2002Red
Black
Red
Black
Red...Looks like I will live to see another day. For the last thirteen months and seventeen days I have started my day with a turn of the roulette wheel. If it ends up red, I will live to see another day. If it ends up black, I can finally put myself out of my misery. With every turn of the wheel, every drop of the ball, I hope for the black. Red every time. Thirteen and a half months is to much of a coincidence for me. The hotel is driving me insane.
For the past twenty-six years I have been a prisoner here. A prisoner of my own device probably, but a prisoner nonetheless.
It all started in 1967. I was the guitar player for a little band called Brain Damage. We started out playing in various clubs and bars, and, like most bands, we developed a small cult following. Soon we ended up with a major record contract, and we went from being a small club band to a nationally known and loved band. None of us really expected that to happen, so we took the whole thing just one little step at a time.

Talkin' 'Bout My Congregation

Original Title: I apologize for the inconvience

Starbucks
I apologize for my last entry. I was not in my right mind. I let something that should have not gotten to me get to me. Although, yes, it will be the last time I put my health in front of the rest of my life.On a happier note, I got my copy of "The Salmon Of Doubt" back from my happy and wonderful friend Jehowe.
