Tired Of Lying In The Sunshine
Thought about going for the good old one word post of “blargh” or something along those lines. But nope.
Not today.
Granted, there won’t be much more of substance in this post.
Maybe I’ll draw a picture or some crap later on.
Just to put me right

Just To Put Me Right
Went to the hospital. Apparently my insides are all kinds of inflamed due to the sickness.
The fix? Take Costco-esqe quantities of ibuprofen, sleep, don’t do anything requiring chest muscles for a few weeks.
Shiny.
Well, not working…The bills that does not pay.
*shrug*
So here we go. Either I will get better or I will lose my job. Cannot wait to see how it plays out.

And Be Back To Work Before Two
I haven't been to work for over a week now, and the only thing I can think to ask about it is "I wonder how my 4 O'clock friend is doing?"

Why Can’t We Be Friends
Today has been a day full of surprises. I ended up getting the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack…Mostly so the wife could play Golden Axe. I’m also typing this into a MS Works Word Processor document that is being saved to the cloud…That is a slightly weird thing to me.
Anyway, back to the Nintendo.
Last month they added Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games to the online offerings.
Along with some sweet, sweet controllers that I cannot buy right now, mostly due to them being out of stock. I was originally going to wait until March whatever, my subscription renewal date to sign up and buy the controllers, but we ended up going ahead with a few months early. So far the Genesis games seem to all work with no real sort of drama. Unsure about Nintendo’s offerings, but time will tell.
Granted, I have been playing an awful lot of Zelda on the NES and SNES the last few weeks.
I will stand by my initial declaration that the Nintendo Switch is the best way to play games you already own…In some cases, games you’ve owned for decades.

Pumpkins Scream In The Dead Of Night
My bloggery composition routine(?) has altered somewhat substantially over the years.
I started this blog on Diaryland.com, eventually moved that to Livejournal.com. From there my original LJ became something of a thing for my insane thoughts and I created a different one to be somewhat more reasonable. From there I moved to Blogger. After several years of that, I moved everything to WordPress.
It took a long time, but I was able to pull all (I think) of the DL posts over to LJ. Then I moved it all to Blogger and from there Wordpress. It was somewhat time consuming to get everything moved over and, for lack of a better word, rebranded. But eventually I pulled it off.
As for the actual composition, originally I was using the built in online posting stuff. I tried a few offline clients for LJ, but nothing really ever worked out well for me. Eventually I came across Windows Live Writer and got back into things. That one was discontinued and I switched to Open Live Writer. It never worked as well as I would have liked it to, but that may have been the computer rather than the software. It was nice being able to double post on separate blogs from one app, but I have since basically abandoned the Blogger site in favor of this one. I am now uploading from the WordPress app
But! But! But! I am actually keeping a running log of posts I am working on (outlines, actual posts, just general notes) in a text file in Microsoft Works Word Processor 9.0.
Yes. I said that.
Works 9.0.
Why? Why not! It is a fairly lightweight program, uses an obscure file format, and, frankly, because I like it.
Once I get this done, I will copy and paste it into the WordPress app and set it free! Will I do it today? This one, probably. I have several other entries in this file to finish, and many more ideas, so there will be many posts that end up showing up later than the original dates, but I am posting them based on dates I started to try and keep things in the correct sequential order.

It’s Not The East Or The West Side
Just read a brief article about the “Bigger Luke” Star Wars fan theory…
In response I’m going to tell you the joke that never gets old.
Ready for it?
Here it is!
People.

There’s A Voice In My Head That Drives My Heel
Today we went to Yellowwood State Forest, which we do about this time every year. Brown County, Indiana in October is always very visually appealing due to the forests and everything doing their autumn thing. One year the weather was dreary, so I was the idiot doing my photography in black and white. (insert link to previous post/photos) Today I decided to do something I’ve never done before…I equipped my bag with nothing but DSL’s (Nikon D3100 and D3500 and a Canon 40D) and Automatic lenses.
Nothing manual. At all.
I will say this, I felt like I had virtually no control over my visual compositions. Point, click, let the camera do the work.
I was not a fan. The way I tend to use the light has been described as “interestingly awesome” by more than a few people and automatic settings just do not allow that kind of customization. The camera captures what it sees in the way it thinks is best.
Which is fine. I would guess the majority of people who take pictures of things want to have an image that is more or less how it actually looks so they can have an accurate memory. I take pictures of nature, primarily, and I try to go more for feeling. I can go out on a dreary or rainy day and get something that is visually striking:
On a day where the sky is as dreary and gray as this:
Manual settings on a digital camera are a must for me. There was just something too sterile about this one:
(Canon 40D w/Canon 35-80 automatic lens)
Versus this:
(Nikon D40X w/Maybe my beat to hell Spiratone 135 manual lens).
But that is just me and I am weird.

Waiting For Someone Or Something To Show You The Way
Finally gave in and got a smart watch. A Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 to be precise. I need something that I can set something like 6 different alarms on for work, so there we go. It counts steps, stores music, sends and receives texts and calls, assuming Bluetooth is active and the phone is near by.
I must say, there is something about having the smart watch that is both appealing and annoying at the same time.
I like the information that it can spit out, I like the fact that I can set several alarms, I am not thrilled with the part where I have to plug it in every day or so, but these things, they happen I guess.

Time Keeps On Slipping Into The Future
Quit my job at The UPS Store a couple of weeks back, now I am picking items off shelves in a warehouse for a medical company. Intellect stretching, it is not but after the garbage I was dealing with before, it is a dream! I was looking for something that keeps the bills paid while affording a sort of mental reset before
I jump back into the world of leadership/management, and I’m hoping this is it. So far it looks good.
Would be nice if the place was a bit more organized and they maybe did not lie to us about the hours. We shall see how long this one works out. There is another place near my house that I may see about getting on at instead…

Movin’ On From Town To Town
I installed Windows 11 on my laptop the other day. I’ve actually used it for a couple of days, and I guess it is…Okay?
On the surface (not the actual Surface PC), everything is prettier (More Apple-fied?). Which would be fine, except things also appear to have been moved around for the sake of moving things around
Such as the Start Button being in the middle of the taskbar rather than the lower right where it comfortably lived for the last 25ish years.
Also, I’m running Microsoft Works 9.0 on Windows 11...This, for some reason, amuses me.

When Your Great Wall Rocks, Blame Yourself
I bought a camera lens today. It's probably utter crap, seeing as it's an $80 YONGNUO brand 50mm Nikon lens. It is supposed to be all automatic.
I have my doubts, but I'll know when it shows up in a few days.

Time Marches On
I was taking a couple of pictures of my Play station (Original) the other day and came across the Playstation Underground ID label from about a million years ago that is still on the bottom of the console. I decided to make a handful of the labels to adorn the rest of my Playstation collection. Every Sony console and handheld now sports one of these beautiful things:
This one is on my Playstation Vita.
Not going to lie, I kind of love this thing. The build quality feels good and the screen looks great! My only gripe is storage, but I have everything but the patience to hack the thing and solve that problem right now.
As for the labels themselves. Yes, I could have done a better job with the sizing. I could have updated them somewhat if I felt compelled. This is a first draft. I may use some standard mailing labels, match up the black for the background and run the name and ID number in red or something…Just to update it but on the other hand, it is a classic and I’m probably the only person with a Playstation Underground labeled Playstation 4!
I might add a picture of that later, but I’m tired.
