Wine And Those Women
Consolidating my digital footprint onto one platform is a nightmare!
Anyway, I was listening to the people at the other end of the table. The girl was being talked to about her performance as a store manager at some fast food chain. Her biggest problem was that she doesn't understand cash handling.
It made me miss my Arby's days.

I Can Feel One Of My Turns Coming On
There was a man I worked with at Arby's a long, long time ago. He was telling me one day when we were listening to The Wall that he always thought the guy was a psychopath until he found out that axe was slang for guitar. Based on the line "into the bedroom, in the suitcase on the left you'll find my favorite axe."
He thought the guy carried around a legit axe until he found out it was actually a guitar. Then he felt better about the song.
I explained to him that the guy was still a psycho. That was the point of the song.
The previous song on the album (Young Lust) is about Pink picking up a hooker. One of My Turns is about him beating the hooker, and if that doesn't scream psycho then he really needs to get his head checked.
He conceded after actually listening to and paying attention to the song.

Little Drops Of Rain Whisper On The Pain, Tears Of Loves Lost In The Days Gone By
I have noticed a disturbing trend about myself. I no longer write. It is a thing I have always enjoyed doing. I no longer put a lot of serious thought into what I blog about. Well starting last night that all changes! So, without further delay...
So.
This is what it is like to be an adult.
For real.
I feel like I have spent the last eighteen years of my life just sort of coasting along. Drifting aimlessly if you will. There have been some bad times. There have been some good times, there have been some downright rad times,
It is December. The year is basically over at this point. Sure, we have a bit more to go. Sure, my "professional life" is supposed to be doing the crazy thing, but there is also the joy that is Christmas. Even if it is buried in all the gobbledygook that society
There is, however more to my and my life. A side that I haven't actually written anything about in recent memory. Not online, not anywhere, honestly.
I haven't written about the whole "Getting Married" thing, and I certainly haven't written about the whole "Having A Kid" thing. That last part, by the by, will be happening in the next one to two weeks. Go figure, right?
Anyway, November ended on a pretty positive note. The Friend I wrote about last night? I actually managed to track her down and have a brief(ish) Facebook conversation with her. Turns out her life is going pretty well, even if it is not what she was expecting either.
I have managed to get some of my goals checked off. I bought a Jeep Wrangler in '03. Still have the old beast, although she has definitely seen better days (and will again, I've no doubt).
I've done some traveling. I've been to Florida, South Carolina, California, Ohio, Kentucky, Texas, Illinois, Arizona, New Mexico and Washington D.C. Granted, Arizona and D.C. were nothing but airport stops, but hey, They count!
There were some unplanned things along the way too. I basically got bored with life and joined the Army once. Great fun, didn't pan out.
I've spent some time working at a liquor store. Which has was both terrifying and interesting.
As for my employment history, I have decided that the best job I've ever had was Arby's. It was less about the money and more about how much fun I had working with the people that were there. I feel that was one of the best parts of my life. Things were really rocking along, especially from '03 - '06.
But that time was not just about the Arby's Life. There were other things going on too. There were my Starbucks friends. Only one of them that I know what happened to. KCAndTheSunshineBand, if you ever read this, feel free to chime in and let me know how you fared. I feel like someone once told me that you ended up somewhat north of here after you finished up with school, but that's about all I have. You too, were one of the people I greatly admired and would love to follow up with all these years later, but I suspect that it is not to be.
In about 2010 I bought my first real camera and have been having a grand old time taking pictures. There are some places I would love to go and see. When I was in Texas a few years back, my roommate would not let me trespass on the site of the old Marfa Airfield. Sad days.
Anyway, there is a lot more to life, but that is the abbreviated version. Maybe about this time next year I will do this again.
Also, the world WILL be a much better place in 2016...Mystery Science Theater 3000 will be making it's triumphant return from the land of the dead!
I realize this has bounced around like a ping pong ball in a dryer, but it has been good for me.
Goodnight sweet readers, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

One Of These Days I’m Going To Cut You Into Little Pieces
Original Title: A Dream Achieved
There is nothing better in this life than watching your arch-nemesis being cut into tiny pieces and thrown into a dumpster.
Ah Arby's lobby drink station, where shall I direct my rage now that you have been destroyed?
I was victorious, and that made my day!

Shakin’ Like A Leaf
The hood cleaning people came to the store I am working at tonight. They were the same ones that always came. Meaning the ones who caused my store to explode. After they left, we were cleaning up their mess, and I decided to be paranoid and check the gas lines.
Lo and behold, the fry line was not connected all the way. It was on there enough that the force of the gas going through the line would have pulled it into place tomorrow, but that it was not all the way connected is what bothers me.
Considering that is what caused my store to explode...
Also, the guy that my store exploded on is doing the opening thing at the store I am presently working at. Meaning he could possibly have had a second store explode on him.
Sucketh.
Anyway.
How are all of you?

Come On Baby Light My Fire
Original Title: This was how my day started
(Indianapolis) - A problem with a gas line caused an explosion and fire at a south side Arby's restaurant Thursday morning. One worker was injured.
The fire started at round 7:00 am at the restaurant, which is located at Sumner and East Streets. The fire was out by 7:30.
Firefighters fought the fire from the roof of the building and managed to put it out quickly. Flames could be seen shooting from the roof, and a large amount of smoke billowed from the building.
Investigators say a four-year employee was preparing for the workday by turning on stoves and deep fryers when there was an explosion. The fire quickly followed the explosion, and then spread to the dining area.
Bill Deashill, Perry Township PIO, said the worker suffered burns to his arms and face, but managed to make his own way out of the building. There were no customers inside at the time.
Deashill told News 8 that a contractor from the previous evening did not properly seat the gas line, which is something workers must do in the process of cleaning equipment. When the employee on Thursday morning's shift came in and turned on the gas, that set off the explosion.
The restaurant's 18 workers will be transferred to other stores. There's no word on when the Arby's will re-open.

Got Goldfishes
Actual event from work the other night:
Woman comes and orders a fish sandwich. We make it and give it to her.
Not five minutes later she is back at the counter. Her purpose? Return the uneaten fish sandwich for a roast beef sandwich. Her reason?
"I can't eat this 'cause I ain't got no teeth!"
The woman is in her late twenties or early thirties.
So, she gets the sandwich she wants and as she is turning around to go sit down, the guy she is with comes up and starts yelling at her.
"YOU REALLY NEED TO GO BUY SOME TEETH WOMAN!"
My god, what a wonderful area I work in.
