Wake Me Up When September Ends

Okay, so I have about half of February of 2003 migrated to this space now.  All I can say is what was I thinking?

Also, reading through my life in those days, I cannot help but wonder whatever happened to my friend who I tend to refer to in this space as "kcandthesunshineband". Wherever you are, KC, I hope you're doing well!

Little Drops Of Rain Whisper On The Pain, Tears Of Loves Lost In The Days Gone By

Starbucks Spike  Led Zeppelin Avacado ChickenRaptors

I have noticed a disturbing trend about myself.  I no longer write.  It is a thing I have always enjoyed doing.  I no longer put a lot of serious thought into what I blog about.  Well starting last night that all changes!  So, without further delay...

So.

This is what it is like to be an adult.

For real.

I feel like I have spent the last eighteen years of my life just sort of coasting along.  Drifting aimlessly if you will.  There have been some bad times.  There have been some good times, there have been some downright rad times,

It is December.  The year is basically over at this point.  Sure, we have a bit more to go.  Sure, my "professional life" is supposed to be doing the crazy thing, but there is also the joy that is Christmas.  Even if it is buried in all the gobbledygook that society wants us to demands that we buy into.

There is, however more to my and my life.  A side that I haven't actually written anything about in recent memory.  Not online, not anywhere, honestly.

I haven't written about the whole "Getting Married" thing, and I certainly haven't written about the whole "Having A Kid" thing.  That last part, by the by, will be happening in the next one to two weeks.  Go figure, right?

Anyway, November ended on a pretty positive note.  The Friend I wrote about last night?  I actually managed to track her down and have a brief(ish) Facebook conversation with her.  Turns out her life is going pretty well, even if it is not what she was expecting either.

I have managed to get some of my goals checked off.  I bought a Jeep Wrangler in '03.  Still have the old beast, although she has definitely seen better days (and will again, I've no doubt).

I've done some traveling.  I've been to Florida, South Carolina, California, Ohio, Kentucky, Texas, Illinois, Arizona, New Mexico and Washington D.C.  Granted, Arizona and D.C. were nothing but airport stops, but hey, They count!

There were some unplanned things along the way too.  I basically got bored with life and joined the Army once.  Great fun, didn't pan out.

I've spent some time working at a liquor store.  Which has was both terrifying and interesting.

As for my employment history, I have decided that the best job I've ever had was Arby's.  It was less about the money and more about how much fun I had working with the people that were there.  I feel that was one of the best parts of my life.  Things were really rocking along, especially from '03 - '06.

But that time was not just about the Arby's Life.  There were other things going on too.  There were my Starbucks friends.  Only one of them that I know what happened to.  KCAndTheSunshineBand, if you ever read this, feel free to chime in and let me know how you fared.  I feel like someone once told me that you ended up somewhat north of here after you finished up with school, but that's about all I have.  You too, were one of the people I greatly admired and would love to follow up with all these years later, but I suspect that it is not to be.

In about 2010 I bought my first real camera and have been having a grand old time taking pictures.  There are some places I would love to go and see.  When I was in Texas a few years back, my roommate would not let me trespass on the site of the old Marfa Airfield.  Sad days.

Anyway, there is a lot more to life, but that is the abbreviated version.  Maybe about this time next year I will do this again.

Also, the world WILL be a much better place in 2016...Mystery Science Theater 3000 will be making it's triumphant return from the land of the dead!

I realize this has bounced around like a ping pong ball in a dryer, but it has been good for me.

Goodnight sweet readers, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

Lay Down The Boogie And Play That Funky Music Until You Die

Original Title: More of the things and such-ness...

I am having a great day today. Only had to work until 1.
Number of people dealt with: 0
Put the truck away, this chick who looks almost exactly like my crazy friend who moved to Colorado a while back came in. She's a nice kid. It was overall, a good day at work.
Before work I did indeed get to see my favorite Katie in the entire universe. That made me happy. The crazy vaguely stalkerish girl who is getting married was also working. that made marginally less happy. Ah well, can't control the schedule of a place I do not work.
Anyway, I took it upon myself to mow the grass after work, and now I am eating doughnuts and screwing about on the comp-U-tor. I just installed the drivers for my keyboard so I can use the scroll wheel again!
Whee!

Play That Funky Music Loud

Original Title: Things and such...

Look at me, it is 5:30 in the am and I am updating this. Very soon I shall go to the place and see the favorite Katie in all the universe and then go to work. Maybe this won't be like last week when she was not there. That threw my whole day out of whack. Ah well.
Work on Tuesday is the devil.
Nay. Work BE the devil!

It's A Great Day

Spike
Let's see.
Discovered that there was a new C&C collection out. Normally those do not interest me, but seeing as how it included every game, I had to buy it. On account that the first two were more or less DOS-specific. Went to Starbucks. Bought the game.

Then the tax check came. Went to the bank. Dealt with that. Went to the Starbucks.

Discovered that the crazy friend who moved to Colorado about 6 months back was back in town for a few days. Worked that one out when she ran up behind me and scared the hell out of me by grabbing on to me and holding on and being very excited(?) or just crazy for a few moments. Then she had to leave to go back to Colorado.

Went to the Target to buy the iPod. Discovered that cost more than I could spend on the card for any given day. Going to the bank to get cash monies to buy that mug early on in the morning.

Went home for awhile.

Went back out to the Starbucks. The favorite Katie in the whole universe (yes, she got promoted again) was not working. That, I assume, is because she has to work early in the morning (yay! get to see the Katie in the morning), so I was not too put out.

Went to the Meijer way far away from the home. Discovered that the ignition switch in the Jeep that I just had replaced went out. Sucketh. Got the ride from the brother.

It's a great day.

Get A Good Job With More Pay And You're Okay

Original Title: Pertaining to Amy checking her tracking number

Spike
I miss Katie.

I need money to go to the Starbucks on a non-Thursday to see her.

I have not been to the Starbucks since Monday. I am broke.

Like a joke.

That does not smoke.

I shall not be at the Starbucks until Tuesday afternoon.

Because I can ca$h my paycheck a day early. Tuesday is a non-Thursday day.

Ooh! Four and a half days!

Whoo!

So Take Your Seats And Don't Be Late

Spike
I love being me sometimes.
Here I sit attempting to procure "A Sitch In Time" and "So The Drama," (Yes, the Kim Possible Movies) for my own personal amusement based on the fact that that is one of the best shows on the television at the moment, whilst updating the "Journal-Ma-Bob," downloading the Trillian, listening to Styx, and eating fruit.

Truly an exciting life I lead.

Sorry. Got sidetracked taking a quiz on one of the Internets. Pretty crappy.

Anyway...
I went on a mad crazy quest to find out where I can buy those Fruitworks drinks. Seems to be nowheres.
Depressing. So I bought some new work shoes at the Store Which Shall Not Be Named. I drove quite a ways to get to it as well. I also bought some animal cookies.

My Favorite Katie In The Entire World now knows that she is indeed My Favorite Katie In The Entire World. She seemed to be intrigued by that. She also likes animal cookies, it would seem.

Sing Me A Melody, Sing Me A Blues, Walk Through The Bottomland Without No Shoes

Spike
I went to the Starbucks this afternoon.
Surprise there...

These two employees were arguing with each other about something stupid. I would probably have just laughed and watched if not for the fact that one of them was a girl whom is very interesting and amusing to talk to.

I was going to throw one of my shoes at the other guy, but I felt I might hit the girl and that was not something I wanted to do.

I went through the drive thru later, only because the church across the street was having their little festival. I was talking about it to the girl from before, and the guy she was arguing with came up and listened for a moment. Then he interjected with "And you still have both of your shoes!"

Poor Katie, the look she had on her face when he said that was so amusing. Then I explained everything to her. She thanked me for being concerned, and our conversation wandered along on it's nicely random path.

Now back to my movie...
